Putin and others were lambasted for not attending in person, think they really should be commended for not attending, if we've learnt anything over the last 18-24 months is this could of all been done on line,

Setting aside the Guardian's bias (as have most other publications, of course), the facts are undeniable: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... vate-plane.

So if I read that right, we need to reduce our emissions unless we're under time constraints, in which case saving the planet doesn't apply.

Interesting how little COP26 features in the 'most read' tables, even in The Guardian and the BBC, the latter of which has been pushing it relentlessly on all fronts .

It's such a shame. I visited that country for 3 weeks in the 1980s, and the ordinary people were so kind and polite. What might it have been like with better leadership?

ditto breadbasket of Africa to basket case in so few years , I've ridden all over Zims and the people are all brilliant and the most hospital in the world

It's such a shame. I visited that country for 3 weeks in the 1980s, and the ordinary people were so kind and polite. What might it have been like with better leadership?

You could say exactly the same about many countries, in particular England today.

No, I think the level of corruption, incompetence and cruelty in Zim is out there pretty much on its own, given that they started with a functioning country and loads of goodwill from the international community.
