The 'media' created the shortage, and now they are spinning it for all it's worth.

Or maybe our "masters" decided we needed something to distract us from the gas prices?Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 9:28 pm The 'media' created the shortage, and now they are spinning it for all it's worth.

Had to wait FIVE minutes to get fuel in Ullapool this afternoon
Feckin motorhome blocking the entrance, once they'd paid no more queue

Im in the transport industry and has nothing to do with lack of drivers for pet reg units. Its the press has accentuated the situation creating this situation.
Unprecedented demand has dried up the garage capacity 3 fold over the last week.
Tanker drivers are working to capacity and now under duress to get supplies back up maxxing driver hours and car drivers un willing to break the Qs to let the tankers in.
media chaos created a perfect storm with numpties filling coke bottles and plastic bags with fuel.
Dickheads!

Re: Don’t run out of fuel
All true.
Hoyer was sacking drivers last year...it delivers fuel for all the 'majors'.
Cost-cutting can come at a terrible price, sometimes.
I hope the govt is charging Hoyer the full market rate for the tanks and drivers it says it is providing.
Hoyer vacancies here...salaries stated for some locations, but not the job down 'ere. That's just 'competitive'!

Re: Don’t run out of fuel
Today I fitted a seat leveller thingy to my nc750s.. so, as I had a bit of precious petrol, E10, in my tank, I had to test it out.
My first garage, around the corner from me, had an empty space and a full pump. I was in and out like a shot, spending the last £10 I had left for the week, and was off to mid wales whooping and grinning like a good 'un, lol.
BTW, the plastic leveller did its job well, transforming the comfort and handling of the bike.
It was a cold but glorious day . ..
Wot fuel shortage ?? lol

Re: Don’t run out of fuel
Greetings John,
Some friends of mine drove up from Portsmouth to Windermere yesterday via motorways and they saw no problems with obtaining petrol or diesel at the service stations on the motorways.
I my local area, Romiley & Hyde, petrol/diesel available and not much queuing.
TTFN
Hugh.
