A while ago I decided to do the stuff I wanted, if and when I could afford to, as I had spent too long thinking of others and putting things on hold.
A bucket list I suppose, but also self motivation to DO SOMETHING before I pop off.
I've done a few.
Skied from the top of Monte Fort to my hotel in Verbier.
Shot for Scotland as team captain.
Caught a Salmon on a fly.
Ticked off a few Alpine passes on my bikes and followed the Loire from mouth to source.
Done some Munro's and taken in the views.
etc. etc. the usual stuff.
Still to do:
One of the big American Biker weekends, Sturgis or Daytona, or maybe another.
Play in a band again (not since school) and record a few songs.
Do a few long distance bike trails TET etc. or even walks.
Norway / Sweden on bike.
Once I'm old enough shoot again in the team but as a Veteran.
Write a book on something, non-fiction.
Write the stories of my adolescence (we did some wild stuff, but never bad).
Helicopter or plane ride round Scotland (on a sunny day).
Fish some of the great North American rivers.
And others, nothing really spectacular, but I don't think they have to be, just fulfilling.
Bucket list

Re: Bucket list
Life is one big bucket list without realising it, it only gets labelled a bucket list as time going forward becomes less predictable. Having 'lost' a couple of people over the last 12 months time has suddenly become 'of the essence' in my mind.
I have held off on a Himalayas trip hoping my Wife wanted to go but a couple of small health issues have changed her focus so it will be a trip with a mate .......... if the World gets opened up again.
Other things on the list revolve around more family and less work.

Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

Where did you catch a salmon on the fly? I aim to do that.

We used to ski in a place called Pfronten in southern Germany, we went a couple of years running. There is a balloon festival in January of each year, which I suppose makes sense, as cold air will be good for a balloon. It looked fantastic with loads of balloons all in the air at the one time with views over the Alps. We considered asking about a trip, but the WAGS weren't up for it. I may need to add that to my list....

I went to uni in Bristol and they hold a big balloon festival there too. It was always worth going to take a look but I never went skyward myself.
I quite like exciting but un-powered things, so a glider would be on the list too, and I definitely fancy a go at this:
