Your Covid Experience

Post by SteveWat »

There can’t be anyone on here who hasn’t been effected.
At the very least everyone has had to endure a restricted life experience for the last year.
Some will have experienced tragedy, loss of earnings and possibly depression.
Up to press myself and my family have pretty much got away with it.
I get that some folk wouldn’t want to talk about it, but what’s it all been about you?
There could even be some plus points?
Maybe we didn’t know what we had until it was taken away?
When it’s over maybe we’ll have some common ground to share with strangers we meet in pubs etc...conversations started and new friends made?
Going into the office may be less of a grind?
I’m an optimist!

Good question - I will give a view

Direct COVID illness - unaffected thankfully.

Indirect illness - definitely bordered on depression occasionally from a previously normal healthy position, that was unexpected. I suspect those that plan 24hours ahead are less affected but I plan six months plus ahead and have found that very challenging.

Business - affected but recovered with minimal lasting effects.

Restrictions on life - frustrating, understand the need, but COVID seems to have become a bit of an excuse for everything now.

View on media - what a bunch of total (fill in your own expletive) - misrepresentation is rife to a level I previously had underestimated. It really has not helped one bit and could have served far more useful purpose.

All in all there are people in a lot worse position. Positive I would take away is the town I live in seems to have become more friendly, hopefully that will last. Far more people say good morning when passing.
Always an adventure, never a disappointment.
