17 purists who use candles and are offended by light bulb discussions.
6 to argue over whether it's 'lightbulb' or 'light bulb'.
Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.

How many social workers does it take to change a light bulb?
Social workers don't change light bulbs, but they will send you a leaflet called 'Coping with Darkness'
How many consultant psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb?
Just one, but the light bulb has really got to want to change

Oh yes. Certainly guilty of some of those.
I like the recent example from 'Rats' where Jak commits 'Small Mammalian Thread Drift', segwaying effortlessly from rats to hedgehogs to moles. Personally I enjoy off-topic-ing, but I like it even more when I'm criticised for it.

I don't know Dave, i thought you might have known the difference between a segue and a segway. Hit me.daveuprite wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 6:56 am Oh yes. Certainly guilty of some of those.

"What does Segway mean?
Is Segway and segue the same thing?
While these two words are pronounced the same, their meanings are never interchangeable. A segue is a transition between two topics. Segway is a brand of scooters used for mobility. he two terms can never be substituted for each other.

Re: Is this us
Excellent. My bad...
I wonder what someone on a sideways scooter transitioning between satellite topics would be called. Seg Segue Sputnik, perhaps?
Reminded me of a joke I saw the other day:
A guy rings 999 and tells them that he is nursing someone who has just been stabbed in Eucalyptus Avenue.
The emergency operator says "Can you spell that for me please?"
And he replies "Hang on a minute, I'll drag him round the corner to Pine Road and call you back"
