Personally I found a little place in Portugal called Alvor many years back and I would happily spend 2 months overwintering there. It's a nice little fishing vllage with fantastic barbecued seafood to eat, reliable warm winter weather and some good journeys out to the West coast and inland. Plenty of places to rent on the Algarve too.
Just Googled Alvor 👍 thanks for the info
BTW - to everyone else it’s horrible, not worth looking at 😜

You can literally watch the boats come in with fresh catch in the morning and this guy cooks it up for you for lunch. Great little place.

Alvor sounds wonderful.

We like Portugal, the only drawback being that after a few years I’m getting a good head of steam up with Spanish. I know Obridago in Portuguese. But I enjoy floundering about in new languages.

Portuguese is easy. You just speak Spanish with a razor blade in your mouth.

My Spanglish is already only English with a vowel slapped on the end.

Now that I qualify for a flu jab I quite fancy a couple of months abroad each winter. Initially Spain for the food, people, sunshine, roads, cafe culture, and much more.

Something like a fishing village with hills nearby, or a nice small town sounds great. A villa or flat with a pool and a reasonable rent.

Some of you must live in Spain and have an idea of good areas and prices. When we’ve been in Spain we’ve always been riding the bike, a different place every night so have seen that we like Spain but want some specific suggestions as to great areas and a realistic monthly rent.

Thanks
I have a very nice apartment on the Costa Del Sol with Garage and secure parking, nice sea and mountains and short drive into the mountain regions.

Mates rates if anyone fancies it

Thanks Olly

I’ll ask openly rather than PM as you might get some bites from others too.

How many bedrooms, how close to town/village? Where is it, roughly?
What price range? Price by the month?
Access to pool? Local amenities?

If you’d prefer to keep it quiet, just PM me.
