Last night I said cheerio to my DRZ400, waved it goodbye as it disappeared into the sunset on a trailer, to be used and abused round the Leicestershire lanes by its new owner, so I am now officially no longer and Adventure Bike Rider.
The truth is in the 12 months before the lockdown started I was riding less and less due to time commitments elsewhere (retained firefighter) but also a bit of frustration at the increasingly limited amount of green lanes still available. The bike sat unused for too long, time for it to go to someone who would put some miles on it.
So a thank you to you lot, for your posts and opinions and photos and general arseing about. From the ABR rallies, to the banter on the forum, it's been a blast.
Stay safe and be lucky
So long and thanks for all the fish

You don't have to actually leave the forum (unless you want to anyway) Andrew, just because you're not riding anymore. Surely it's not a condition of posting on here that you are an active rider? I've ridden a motorbike just once in the last three months and I still post all kinds of crap on here - sometimes about riding and bikes, sometimes about other things that affect us.
But if you're definitely on your way, see you at the restaurant at the end of the universe...

Two things I know for sure.
1. You don’t have to leave just because the bike has gone.
2. Dave does post some crap on here!
Glad you enjoyed it, hope you’ll pop in now and again to enjoy some more.

The restaurant at the end of the universe was the clue
Perhaps you have to be of a certain age or just a weird humour

I see that the first book came out in late ‘79 so I’m about the right age and I was aware of it back when.
It just passed me by.......like many other things no doubt......?????

Go and buy a copy. It's great.
And if you don't I'll read you some Vogon poetry.
