I could be wrong but I thought there was already a circuit on Anglesey.
Whilst not a particular fan of road racing I tend to go and watch Classic meetings two or three times a year. My perception would be that grid and spectator numbers have been falling steadily for the last twenty five years and more dramatically in the last five. Obviously the same may not apply to modern bikes, although the last time I went to Rockingham to watch superbikes the stands were virtually empty.
It would be nice to see the money used to promote trail and endure riding. I would imagine that could have a more significant all year round benefit to the Welsh economy.
Cheers Jak

Hmmm, I wonder who is providing the funding. I bet it's not the Welsh tax payers.

Knockhill does OK.
I used to live just outside Brecon, not far from the site, and the summers were glorious.

Oi you racist fecker, people in Wales pay tax too ffs :pinch:
Please refer to the forum rules:-

I don't think calling anybody a racist fecker qualifies with either of the above rules. The comment does however reflect upon the author.

I am quite aware that there are many Welsh tax payers. However I doubt that their if their contribution to the overall UK tax revenue collected would be sufficient to justify spending on such a wild card project. From reading the article, it would appear that the Welsh assemble is also of the opinion that underwriting the project would not be a worthwhile undertaking.

Ref regarding UK tax revenues.

But you hiding behind 'access denied' can make such comments and statements, hypocrisy at its worst, it's racist and anti-Welsh however you try to sugar coat your response ! (thumbs)
Can we stay on track here. The expectation of public funding of underwriting the project was kicked out by the Welsh assembly. Good move, there are better things to spend the money on.

As for hiding behind denied access, the people I want to know, know where to find me.
As you are probably aware there are some people that are just not worth bothering with, hence the fairly recent change to my profile.

Funny old world, I did exactly the same thing.

The rain/ slicks not required comment in the original post was intended as tongue in cheek humour and certainly not in any way racist. I'm sorry that you interpreted it in that way.

I have asked Bryn to delete this thread. I still think that pulling the plug on the idea was a good move. We have enough circuits around the UK, underwriting another with public money makes no business sense to me. If it is a good idea then it would have no problem getting private investment funding.

There's an amusing little circuit at Llandow, part of what was once a massive airfield which was physically joined to RAF ST Athan and what's now Cardiff Airport.
I used to live near there

Ive deleted all the quoted posts as they were unessasery. Ive left Bryns quote for clarity.
He is not simply a moderator, he is the Editor/owner. As you can tell by his name he is also Welsh! So I think his word on this matter should be final.
Any further atempts to derail this thread in an effort to get it deleted will not be looked on kindly.
It is clearly political and has absolutly nothing to do with race!!
