Insurance again- are these people real

Post by SSchultz »

I had a look around yesterday before accepting my renewal. Found a good deal for 150, comp and all inclusive. They just called me now to confirm and there comes the question about modifications.I say let's play along and see what they consider modificantions. Appatently a windscreen,a 12v socket, satnav mount and a tankbag will turn that initial 150 into 450.Didn't mention the moose stickers on my panniers, I think that would have add at least another couple hundreds

Incredible! Which company is that? I can see that a screen is an extra, but the rest? A tank bag? I'd better tell my missus to declare her handbag on her car insurance.

I wonder if its a new thing they are doing?

Bennetts list of Things to Declare runs to 4 different web pages - subdivided...

And Bennetts list of what not to delcare:

To be honest - most of it is reasonable common sense....

Can't tell exactly as I'm at work on my phone now but I think it was Groove and Dean or something like that.Looks like the 200 renewal from C. Nash is a bargain. Although I haven't told them either about any modifications.Just curious if people declare their topboxes, panniers, heated grips and chain cleaners?

I have post office insurance, good price compared to mce renewal and bennets. Just declared 'no performace enhancing mods, standard bike apart from extra protection, engine guard and hugger/extender' which they were ok with. Agreed tow-bar not to be fitted but panniers/topbox use as well as pillion carriage.
Insurance cam back as devitt underwritten.
