most folks dont know that the space length of line between the centre white lines is to advise of a potenial hazard...
the gap increases when hazard decreases...then again whats the highway code  and when did folks last read it...
question....whats the difference between a tocan and std crossing pedestrian traffic light sequence
and what does the right/left hand lane marker do for hgv drivers on bends at junctions ?
central white lines
Re: central white lines
On a crossing you have a flashing amber light after the red and if the crossing is clear you may go. On a standard light system there is no flashing amber and you may only go on green.Tramp wrote: question....whats the difference between a tocan and std crossing pedestrian traffic light sequence

Also, on a toucan crossing, cyclists and pedestrians can both cross.MarkN wrote:On a crossing you have a flashing amber light after the red and if the crossing is clear you may go.
