Eurotunnel entrance/exit at Calais, any aggro on a bike?

Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

Eurotunnel entrance/exit at Calais, any aggro on a bike?

Post by Scott_rider »

I've done the Eurotunnel several times before and never seen any signs of aggro with the immigrants (let alone seen an immigrant  ) but has anyone been across it lately on a bike and has the situation changed? I'm going down there next Sunday for an early morning crossing.

We came out to France yesterday with no problems and we're going home Monday so I'll report back on that side of it once we're home.

Thanks B) . I'm sure it's fine. I seem to remember reading not to use the first petrol station on the exit from Calais for some reason but maybe that's more so for car/lorry drivers?

Not so much aggro for a bike apart from delay.Crossed by ferry 2 weeks ago and the poor trucks were queuing five miles because of migrants in the tunnel.

I'm really hoping that firstly they clear the freight train blocking one side of the tunnel and secondly they clear the backlog by lunchtime tomorrow because at the moment Calais has 4 hour delays before check in the 3 hours in the terminal.

I'll check the website halfway to Calais and if it's still bad book a ferry and just take the financial hit :(

tweet from eurotunnel:
Update: The National Freight Train has now exited the Tunnel, we can now begin reforming the timetable and will work to reduce delays. ^LE

Is it possible to buy a dry bag large enough to carry an small to medium size immigrant? No chance with a top box and the panniers are a dead loss, (too rigid). I'm looking at the possibility of earning a few quid on any future trips.
