I was also a one-time trombonist. It was a Saturday night in about 1986, at someone's flat in Islington I think. I wasn't very good at it.
Obviously the neighbours loved it.
Great video by the way.

Ha ha, hopefully the Islington neighbour was Tony Blair, he certainly loves blowing his own trumpet. I recently bought - completely unintendedly - another 'bone at a local auction. Boosey & Hawks in reasonable nick.... for £22 plus auction tax Luckily we have no neighbours.daveuprite wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 8:52 am I was also a one-time trombonist. And I promise it's not me on the scooter, but an idea is germinating....

And now for something completely different...
I went through a bit of a synth phase back in the day. Tomita, JM Jarre etc... I just found this on Youtube. Maybe light up one of those Jays and spend an hour with this...
We all know the music, but it's great to see it actually being made.

Hopefully that link works if not search for Bruce Springsteen, Barack Obama podcast. You don’t have to be a fan of the Boss or Barack to find it interesting and entertaining.

Re: Today I are mainly listening to ...
I have designated today 'Jethro Tull Day', and I will mainly be playing Tull.
'We used to know', if you didn't already know, is the song that many think The Eagles ripped off with Hotel California. Obviously it's exactly the same chord progression, but it's a classic progression that you can't copyright so I'm glad that Ian Anderson never sued them. Descending fifths etc. - (although Tull's song is 3/4 time while HC is 4/4). But if you can listen to this without hearing 'On a dark desert highway...' etc then you're tone deaf.
Great song, great musicianship.
