I remember.........That 2 ton ted from teddington turned out to be a right bastid
P.S. .. I'm not embarrssed by the first record I bought ( A Forest - The Cure)
but on the same trip into town my sister bought The deck of cards - Max Bygraves...and played it repeatedly for the rest of the year
The pain has never quite gone away

Greetings Billy,
It's funny but I don't often check in on this section, however your post struck a chord (sorry about the pun) with me.
My dear very close friend, who sadly died at the end of last year, was the producer of the "Rupert The Bear" records including a whole host of other childrens' records. He covered all music genres, military bands, pop records, ballet and classical. I was fortunate in the 70s to occasionally help set up equipment with him.
My friend was Barry Ainsworth and he collected a few gold records during his recording career. Barry recorded many stars from the 60s up to the 2000s. He organised the annual Barnet Summer Festival and probably one of his biggest numbers to sound engineer was Bohemian Rhapsody.
Thanks, your post brought back many happy memories for me too.

Hugh.

Very sad to hear that Peter Green has died. What a huge contribution he made.

Enjoyed that, sat on the deck, shooting the breeze with the wife over a second bottle of wine in the warmth of the evening.daveuprite wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 8:26 pm Great memories of a trip to Cuba some years back now:

Re: Today I are mainly listening to ...
Such a shame to hear that Toots Hibbert has died of Coronavirus today, after days/weeks of fighting it.
I've listened to Toots and the Maytals for decades. A seminal band in the reggae/ska world. Without them, we might not have had Madness or the rest of the Ska revival. Their music, for me, is the sound of a hundred 1980s house parties and lots of good festivals. Love it.
RIP Toots.
