Saw him when he did his speaking tour in Stroud a few years back. A very nice guy.

For a 'travel writer', he don't half write well! Reminds me a bit of Conrad on a bike!
Love his work and a lovely man to share a pint with, as was my pleasure at an H.U. event.
Happy birthday Ted, have a good'un and live to ride and write for many years to come.
(see, told you oil of olay would do the trick!)

Just read both books in succession fir the umpteenth time.
One good thing about getting older is that you can re-read books more frequently.

That's a good truism. I re-read my favourite books quite a bit. Usually discover something new. When I descend into full Dory mode, I'll be shocked by the ending of all those who-dun-its every time. Good value for money actually.... :D
