Re: My dad
Admitting you have a problem means your halfway to overcoming it, I lost my dad when I was 22, I never really got to know him, but I know he would've been there for me through the bad times.

Re: My dad
What a great post. I am sure he will be as proud of you as you are of him.
I wish I had thanked my dad more than I did. Wherever you have been with yer thoughts and actions = yer on the right road now mate, for sure

Re: My dad
Well what can I say to that
I love my kids and I now my Darren has got issues and I’m so proud of him for getting help. If I had told him he needed help he would have said I’m fine dad stop worrying I’m fine . Lost contact with both my kids for a lot of years and it was hard but now we are all back together and I now have seven wonderful grandkids thanks to them I love everyone of them
Thanks son

My dad died when I was 24 so 40 years ago now, less than two years after my wife and I were married so we’ve missed having him around for a long time now......

Re: My dad
A brilliant post and if one is a dad to rear a son's post like that is feel on top of the world.
My kids are grown up and I spent last week over in London with my eldest. Rode the bike over and surprised her by my mode of transport, she thought I was flying over.
My only advice to you now is to embrace your time and maybe bring him part of the road with you. He won't always be there physically but his spirit will be. I know my kids don't 'need' me any more but in some ways they do and always show their appreciation of things done. Yes, as all do we had our issues along the way but dads never give up in their minds.

Re: My dad
I commend you for looking for answers from within and accepting your error. It takes strong men to realize that they are in the wrong and for a matter of fact apologize as you have done openly. Great spirit, I salute you, sir.
