Too often I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen.- Louis L'Amour

Ok folks
Unfortunately concerns have been raised about insurance covering the Rally Ride out, as a result of this there will no longer be an organized ride out like we have had on our previous Rallies.
It was a subject I was blissfully ignorant and unaware of, but now that it has been brought to my attention I cannot ignore it.
Instead what I propose to do is to post up a route & then leave it up to individuals or small groups of mates to choose to do it or, as before just do their own thing. This is in a beautiful area of Ireland with great biking roads so hopefully everybody attending will have a fab time and leave with great memories.
Keep an eye on this post for the route, which I hope to complete within the next week - there is also a possibility I might be able to get someone to provide a link of the route to load into satnavs, however if you just open google maps and follow the route I'm guessing most folks should be able to download it anyway. I will also include suggested stops for breakfast/coffee, photos & leg stretch

Re: ABR Ireland Weekend 2023 - Sign Up Thread
yeah ... riding in `groups` was illegal a while back, so no formal arrangement can be made, and no `leader` appointed.
but i don't see that an example of a good local route, displayed, for individual use, can be illegal, if no meet time is allocated.
but perhaps offset any confusion that it is a group ride, by having to email the route to individuals, to use as and when, individually.
with no public notice.
tbh i think the cops got enough to worry about without getting anyone to admit that they are riding in a..... gasp .... GROUP.
" we just met up along the way, officer .. seemed to have the same good idea at the same time"

So having discussed this unforeseen dilemma at length with the rest of the guys here, it would seem that due to the obvious concerns raised, no one (myself included) is willing to assume the role of leader, as has been the case in years gone by.
I agree that its not ideal, but Flintys suggestion is viable, so please don't let this small hurdle deter you from coming over.
It is a beautiful part of the country and now with no set timeline to follow, you can ride as much or little as you want and go where you want to go. Just treat it as an opportunity to explore the West Coast.
Flinty will make information to assist you with planning your own route available in due course.
The arrangements for food etc haven't changed and will still be available as per original 1#post.
Hopefully see you there
