Re: Ecky Thump Rally
I agree that its a bit expensive--but for 3 nights camping, good facilities, the presentations, free tea and coffee etc---and meeting old friends--I don't think its too bad-cheap beer and cider as well--especially as lots of campsites are charging silly money these days, cashing in on vacations at home. Personally I subscribe to "nearly wild camping" to get cheap sites that are basic and quiet--there are still a few around.
Re: Ecky Thump Rally
I don't know if any of you have been following the story of the round mainland Britain journey of Jeff DaBear in support of a 5 year old lad from Accrington who has the fatal condition Battens Disease? Jeff DaBear is a stuffed bear that young Jeffrey's grandmother purchased for him and bikers from all around the country, me included, have been in a huge relay for him to visit as much of the country as possible. It has been a 6 week trip that has took lots of organizing by Darren Haslem from the Suzuki VStrom forum. On the Sunday of the Ecky Thump Rally Jeff will making the "Homecoming " trip from Blackpool to the Accrington Stanley football ground with hundreds, hopefully,of bikers escorting him home. The riders will be leaving Blackpool at 1 pm and after a stop should get to the football ground at around 3pm. Me and one or two others will be leaving the Ecky Thump at around 9-10am to make the journey to the Accrington area to join the ride. There has been a lot of coverage in the media, Jeff DaBear even got to meet Boris Johnson but we won't hold that against him
If any more of you at the rally would like to come along to join the final trip of this great cause then let me know and we can get something organized. If you are on Facebook you can find details on --Jeffreys Biker Journey. Also #werideforjeffrey
Thanks for looking and looking forward to having a few bevvys at Cropton again.
Nick.

Re: Ecky Thump Rally
I've just booked for next year (Overland event) at early bird prices--but won't be bothering with any ABR rally. I will be going to the Ecky thump for some chilling time and a good ride.devon john wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 7:42 am the overland has got silly on pricing ,

Re: Ecky Thump Rally
It will be good to see old and new faces in three weeks time.
I am organising some stickers as usual and may have some 'extras' if I can organise in time.
Usual fare of food on the Friday evening and Saturday evening, fire as usual and for first timers the pub usually can organise breakfasts as well.
Cheers Steve (alias Mario)

I have been in touch with the pub and all is good.
Will post up details of food nearer the time.
i am organising for a raffle as well!
Cheers Steve
