I have not been to the centre of this hospitality but I have and do spend a lot of time camping in the area and have been to most of the villages. I have taken my K bikes on to some of the less surface routes too, I have camped in France with at least one of the gentleman in the photos too!!!

Don't get the idea big bikes are a necessity, great fun to be had on the trails on a 250. Solo travel a lighter bike like a 250 is much better because it cant get you in trouble.

I love camping but have to say its a fantastic region and as said French hospitality is amazing.

Too many Ks Olaf!!!--thanks for the memories--and that little WR did the trip down to the Vezere with full camping kit--and then 2 weeks exploring the RNs etc--a brilliant compromise.

Did I take the NX down as a "spare"?--it has been moved on but there is still a large following in the US--they were an interesting design in that they were a rev box and 28 bhp with low seat BUT good ground clearance--now replaced with a Kawa Super Sherpa--just made another carbon/kevlar bashplate for one (NX) in the US. The WR is still with me--and now has a KTM690 touring screen and a Scotts damper--the development continues!--a good pic find indeed. I remember that trip--cracked rib on about day 3 and then in shear agony for a while after the adrenalin had worn off.(bloody pointy rock got me in the back after a tipple off on that nadgery goat track.)

The WR did impress me but much as I like the K bikes the WR and the Serow impress me hugely.

Never too many Ks Chris! 2 more have come since our last meet up and planning on next May/June again, virus permitting.

Usual arrangements apply
