Hi All
I am looking at a Multi-Purpose (Dual Sport) touring bike and have been trimming the list from the choices by budget and other limiting factors
I have seen this X-Challenge on Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271737965008? ... EBIDX%3AIT
He is saying £3800 and no less ... is that too much money I ask ?
Not trying to be controversial just trying to do a little opinion canvassing
Don't know these well but really like them after seeing a nice one recently at the Zen Cider Rally. I know they are fairly limited with availability in the UK
Thoughts please & Thanks

Re: Too Much £££ ??? (X-Challenge)
I've seen this bike, nice tidy one
I sold mine with 7000 miles, in 2013 for £3650
Sold my XCountry in Oct 2014, with 5200 miles for £3250
They do hold their price
Get a KTM 690

X Challenge is more off road oriented. Not too comfy on a long- ish road ride.
X County is more road oriented. But will do off road very well, better than I can.
It's depends what you want from the bike.
Cheers Dave.

Re: Too Much £££ ??? (X-Challenge)
You'll probably need to replace the air shock for peace of mind (£300-£900 depending on what you want)
Looks nice, I bought mine a couple of months ago for £2500 with a nearly new Klim badlands suit thrown in.
1700 (one thousand seven hundred) miles.
But it was tatty. I guess the suit was worth £500. It'll take about £1500 to make it nice, including the replacement shock so will stand me at £3500
It's nearly there. I don't think the price of the one you're looking at is excessive.
The most comfy bike to ride stood on the pegs I've ever ridden. It seems to fit most people just as well.

Don't you need a fairly long inside leg for the Challenge?

Looks a nice one, I'm sure it was on eBay just before Christmas?
As a new XChallenge owner my views might be a little bias
I would say £3400 would be a fair price, like you say not many around but they are a niche bike not loads of people who want to buy them. A standard low mileage bike will sell for £3500ish no matter what time of year it is.
Mine came with loads of stuff Wilbers shock some touratech bling and Remus exhaust.
Buy one and enjoy (thumbs)

Thanks for the ideas and info people ...
690R would be nice but recall my opening sentence ... not an open ended deal
£3800 is a deal breaker this time around
Rarely see X-Country for sale ... saw one here recently
LIFE ... it is all about your timing !!

If a Hammer don't fix it - you have an electrical problem

That is about 925mm - is that the real seat height ?
I had read that both X models were 910mm
