The smallest.....

You only need a 3/4 size one yer lower legs an feet don't need the same degree ov comfort..

:) :)

Highlander did some camo ones a while back...

Make sure you get an inflatable pillow as the lack of a good one is often the cause ov uncomfortable sleepless nights out camping...

A couple I got from the states via e-bay had inflatable pillows attached.....

Tho separate is just as good....

I have been using a lidl 7inch deep inflatable mat but I found that it kept deflating slowly through the night, so I got a Thermo NeoAir, havent used it yet but packs up mega small and mega light plus I dont need a separate compressor to inflate it :)
Finally back on a GS :D

Too much weight on it?
Seriously though I also use a Neo Air and it is superb! Packs away to neally nothing and hardly weighs anything too. (unlike me).

I took this one to France for 10 days...

Very light, comfortable and now £20 cheaper than I paid last year :(

I did look at the neo one and although it rolled up small I didn't actually like it as a matt.

You need to strike a balance between killing your bank balance and killing your back. The really thin ones are cheap but don't give you the best nights sleep. I've got half a dozen of them - mainly 3/4 length (that's fine for length) and hardly ever use the thinner ones any more. Never satisfied I'll be buying a down filled Exped for this camping year.

Thermarest ............

Post by Ubique 895 »

I've got a thermarest prolite 4 in full length which is brilliant.

Have used it many many times from summer camping under just a tarp to full on winter mountaineering in the depths of Scotland. Fantastic piece of kit.

Just remember to store them flat and un rolled so they maintain their full shape once inflated.
