Hi.
I’ve got a Chinese stove, which is great but too noisy.
Looking for a small gas stove - requirements are:
Small pack size
Stable
Good control
Quiet
I don’t need one that will boil a kettle in 15 seconds but I do cook all meals for a 3 week holiday so needs good simmering control. It will be used in nice weather - hopefully

Get yourself a Trangia, best stove out there. If it's just for you get a 27, for 2 or more a 25. If you need an additional ring just add a Trangia Triangle or 28 (the stoves get smaller as the number increases but all use the same burner).
Meths is far easier to cook on as a low heat is easily achievable.
There's loads on You Tube about them.

I've used one of these for years, you get two pots to cook in and the burner stores inside the pots so it all packs away neatly

I'll second that Bob, great stoves, had mine well over 15 years now, packs down nice and small, and you can get the gas everywhere.

There are some Chinese knock offs for half the price but I couldn't testify as to how good they are

Noise isn’t something I’ve bothered much about. I’ve always used coleman petrol stoves.

I love my Coleman dual fuel stove. It runs a bit dirty at altitude with unleaded fuel but i carry a Sigg fuel bottle and a syphon tube to get fuel out of my bike fuel tank if i run out. Parts are easily available like generator tube and pump seal etc if you do need to rebuild it. It is not particularly quiet but i can,t think of any other model i would rather have.

I’ve got a Coleman multi fuel stove.
I used a Camping Gaz stove for many years and still have it in the loft.
I like the look of the Vango - but is it quiet??

It will be used on campsites to cook all meals for 2 people - I like cooking and I like eating so I prefer a cooker which sits on the ground for stability, we are sometimes in a group and need to cook a big pot of rice or stew etc.
I want a gas stove for ease - I’ll buy 2 big canisters, put them in the kitchen bag and that’s done for a 3 week trip.

Again my main concern is noise. We’ve just come back from a few days away and my current stove is so noisy that after an hour of cooking our ears we’re ringing - I had to have the cooker on low so not to disturb the neighbours. We will often pack up in the morning early but want a coffee - I just can’t have a jet engine going at 6am

Anyway, I’m sure you’re not interested in my holiday life but thanks for any suggestions of a quiet stove

The MSR Whisper Lite Universal looks very good and with a name like that it must, surely, be quiet.
Anyone got one?
