I’m a bit nervous about the Tènèrè range after years of riding an Africa Twin with a 23L tank
I think there is more than one company working on a larger tank at the moment. Ifit's any consolation my bike is averaging 63mpg at the moment, I never got anymore than 50-55 out of any of the Africa Twins i've had.
Yes the dash says I’m averaging 65.6mpg but I’m limiting it to 5k revs until run in. I’m just approaching the 600 mile first service.

Had a good 65 mile run around Snake Pass/Strines today with even more weight in the luggage to see how the bike felt. The panniers came with two extra MOLLE pouches so I slotted them on and put water bottles in. I was carrying 4L of water in total to represent fuel and I was chucking the bike around no bother.

In my experience the R&G tail tidies are OK on road but to brittle/solidly mounted for off road use.

What other options are out there?I haven’t looked beyond the genuine Yamaha option.

I’m not in to aftermarket stuff that requires the cutting (butchering) of standard parts. I prefer the direct replacement method.
Plus, me and sharp implements.......

I quite like the look of these engine bars. Their bash plates look good too.

Have you seen these https://shop.touratech.com/side-bag-end ... proof.html
Actually made by Ortlieb, so won't be pants :? Quite reasonable for a pair as well.

I'll be using these Viper by Moto soft panniers £34.99 a pair.....I've test fitted them to my Himalayan and they're rock solid.....I'd think they'll be waterproof as well, but I've not had chance to test them. The magnetic tank bay was £15.00.

There doesn't seem to be a general T7 thread (maybe there should be?), so I'll put this accessory-related post here.... had a call from my supplying dealer asking if I had the heavy-duty skidplate fitted as there is a recall on them. Going back several years, the XT660Z accessory skidplate was also withdrawn due to some sort of strength issue.
At the moment, I'm inclining towards the Adventure Spec skidplate....

I can edit the thread title to Tenere 700 thread if that’s a helpful idea? Following on from Marks observation above of course.

And yes, the Adventure Spec bash plate does look good.
I have read that the Genuine Yamaha item that is subject to a recall is due to brake pedal clearance, or lack there of.
