Been sleeping on an Exped mat for more than ten years now. Would I get another, yes almost certainly.

However... I would not get one with a hand pump. Never got on with the built in hand pump don't use it and it gets in the way when rolling the mat up. I use an electric pump or a schnozzel pump bag (which I believe comes with the mats with no built in hand pump). The pump bag also doubles as a waterproof stuff sack.

Now others will disagree and think the built in hand pump is the best thing since sliced bread.

Don’t forget the great build quality of anything Exped make.

Mine came with a small whoopee cushion sort of hand pump. Very easy and small to pack away.

Exped downmat for me--I've had mine for years--used it last weekend at Lower Lode--Guzzi Clocks back Rally--I was on the Trans alp--the water came up!

ps I WAS camped just beyond those tables--and the water was about 12 feet lower--glad I moved!

My mate has an Exped mat and it's as noisy as f&ck. You can here it 20 foot away!

Very true!

The noisy surface material is the only thing I don't like about mine. I do sleep well on it though (once I’ve stopped making a racket tossing and turning)

I've used the Exped Synmat 9 Deluxe for roughly 300+ nights of comfy sleep. After about 100 nights of use, I had a problem with it, but Exped replaced it free of charge when I contacted them.

I recently have changed over to the Nemo Cosmos as it packs a little smaller and is easier to inflate/deflate than the Exped. Caught it on sale for $88 US - https://www.rei.com/rei-garage/product/ ... wkgsUZpYoc

The Nemo has a pump something similar to the Exped, except you use your foot to inflate it ... very quickly (45 seconds!)

I've got the long wide version. Absolutely the best bit of camping gear I've got. Warm and comfortable everywhere.
