Hello,
I am new about camping, i have Ducati Multistrada 950 with original top case and panniers.
I don’t want to use another bag for camping gear, could you please advice me a tent for 2 person which has a compact size to carry in topcase or in panniers? Thanks in advance.

What size are your top case & panniers?
Is it a 2 person tent for 2 people? Usually a 2 person tent will do for 1 person + kit not for 2 people.

I separate the poles from the rest of the tent and it usually fits ok.

Re: Looking a tent can keep in top case
I suggest that you adopt a methodology to identify the tent you need.
The litre volume of your top box does not really identify the maxinum size of tent you can get in it. (The max size tent might be too heavy but that is another step).
You need to identify the size of tubular, tent pack shaped, bag you can fit in ---- by putting such a thing in the box.
Get the cheapest 30 litre roll bag you buy, stuff it full of towels/clothes/whatever to make a firm cylinder.
Measure the length and diameter.
Try it in your top box.
Decide if a packed tent needs to be smaller or could be bigger.
Identify those diameter and length dimensions.
Look at the range of tents one manufacturer offers and find the ones that pack to your identified sizes.
Look at the features those tents have --- height/ length/ vestibule size and decide which shape might suit your camping style.
Only then start looking at other manufacturers, stability, how waterproof etc.
You might want to buy a cheap tent first to check the type of features you decided on.
Here endeth the lesson.

Most tents will give you the dimensions of the tent is height length width as well as pack size.
Measure the internal dimensions of your box and go from there.
As stated you will probably be better of with a 3man tent to hold all your kit aswell.
Best advice is to go to camping shops have a look at tents on display. See which one suits your needs for sleeping living with and if you take the bike most shops won't mind if you leave your helmets in store whilst you nip out to bike to see if it actually fits your case.
Why don't you just buy the tent that suits you as a couple then strap it to the top of your case. Simplest way

Re: Looking a tent can keep in top case
I've got a Berghaus Peak 3.3 tent. I haven't actually used it with my bike but no reason I couldn't. I use it for hillwalking and wild camping with my girlfriend and dog. I split the outer from the inner and poles and it easily fits in a rucksack so would also fit in top box/panniers. It only weighs 3.25kg and has enough room to sit in the porch as well as store all our gear in the end. Available just now from Millets for £107 which I think is a bit of a bargain for the quality of tent.

Thank you for advice, it seems good. Do you think also poles can fit to top case or panniers?sprintster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 2:09 pm I've got a Berghaus Peak 3.3 tent.
