Merino wool. Does just what it says on the tin. Doesn't dry quite as quickly as synthetics but it's always dried overnight for me when I'm touring. It also doesn't seem to cling when wet like most of the performance synthetics I've tried. More expensive but it works.

I have stuff from Knox which is quite good. Trousers are a bit snug to get passed ankles but ok once on. Shirt is not a sporty fit which I like.

Another plus here for merino wool base layers used the stuff for years and very pleased with it.

Merino wool everytime. Then shop on the product and not on trade names.

Another one for merino wool. Decathlon do some very well priced kit, I've got loads of t-shirts and long sleeved t-shirts that I wear all year round.

Guys, Merino is far to heavy for summer use IMO, unless your a skinny feck like me :whistle:
I wear Merino in the winter and its great, but come spring it go's back in the draw.

Fine for me in summer. Remember it comes in different thicknesses though

No issue for me in the summer as it wicks sweat away so quickly, but as has been said there are different weights available.

I use a thin EDZ undershirt that stops your outer garments sticking to you. Overnight wash and its dry next morning. Not tried merino apart from a mid layer that my daughter treated me to but its too thick for summer.

Been using them to commute to work for years.
However, the MoD issue wicking shirt is also been a proven winner too. (Tested in desert conditions)
