Where to try and buy my next helmet

Post by JimboF650 »

Having had most of my bike stuff stolen last month, including helmet - I'm now starting to replace stuff. So I need a new helmet. Don't really want to buy of the internet - I'd much prefer to try before I buy. Got my last helmet (X-lite) from Hein Gericke, no longer in business.

So where, not too far from Manchester has a decent selection of quality helmets?
Demon Tweeks is first on my list, where else?

Thanks

Adventure Bike Warehouse. Take a look at the Nexx XD-1 lid, absolutely brilliant and good value for the design and build. Jet visor too, removable peak and you get customising pads in the box to tweak it if its not perfect.

Don't forget Ghost bikes in Preston, you won't get service like you do at ABW ,but they always have a few good deals on, also close to you is race leathers in Darwin he probably has the best selection in the north west

I wanted to try one of these Nolans :-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251809967481? ... EBIDX%3AIT

rather than just buy off Ebay. Only 2 listed Nolan dealers in all of Scotland, one in Glasgow and t'other in Falkirk, so took a wee ride out to Falkirk as it's a bit nearer.

Not only did they not have any in stock, they had never heard of the model. The did, however, offer to get one in for me to try, so I asked for a Large size in Silver. They phoned me 2 days later to explain that the importer was only bringing in Black or White helmets.

Now waiting for a call to say that a Large White Nolan N40 Full Classic is available for me to try on.

Hope it fits and I like it, cos it's a 45 minute ride each way from "The Athens of the North"
