I would also speak to them about rims as the OEM ones are soft as shit. Especially if you want to off-road

There is a guy on the KTM forum that does wheel rebuilds etc do a search, his name is Al Henderson I think. I can't see why your wheels are shot, how many miles. I did 44K on my last 990, wheels were fine. Normally only the spokes and nipples corrode, which isn't a biggy. Just scotch brite the spokes.
Its mainly caused by the brake pad debris, getting onto the spokes during braking etc. By all accounts
Shite chrome spokes from KTM my spokes and nipples were nearly all that way, and I kept up with ACF 50.
Going by your recent posts, your trying to throw money at problems that you shouldn't, if you want a sparkly bike with shiny spokes etc. Buy one, as the KTM 9#0 Adv series have always been this way.

It's an issue specific to sintered metal (copper colour) pads.Hot metal dust sticks to the spokes.
Switch to the cheaper resin-based black ones if it worries you. They aren't so fade-resistant, but unless you ride exceptionally hard you probably won't notice the difference.

Fair comment agent orange the spokes were sprayed by po after surface rust had appeared presumably to hide the pittingt so I used some spoke covers and touched up with hammerite looks ok but I know it's there so irritates me I may just do as you've said and try scotch brighting them and acf50.im not after a sparkly show bike I just want the best 990 I can have with the funds that allow
