Low Profile Very Small Top Box?

Post by optimisery »

Just wondering if anyone knows of a very low profile small top box that's available for sale anywhere?

Or if anyone has adapted something else to fit a bike?

I'm talking about the size of something that would hold a packed lunch and a camera and be lockable.

TY in advance

Pelican cases and other similar cases seem to be popular on ADVRider.

Or something like this

Much cheaper than a Pelicase

If you're willing to mess about sorting out the mounting of it the small topbox that used to come on a lot of older BMW K series road bikes would be ideal. They're about big enough for spare gloves and some waterproof over trousers but not much else.

They don't go for a lot of money because they're so small but it sounds like it'd do the job for you.

I like the pelicase / toolcasesdirect (MAX IP67) style.

I guess a lock would need fitted also.

Any idea on the best way to mount something like this to a rear rack? So that its semi permanent, but not easy to steal?

I was thinking about getting a really small topbox...... The smallest, and cheapest, I could find was this little 17ltr topbox. Has a baseplate, can be removed from the bike easy, so works the same as Givi boxes, although obviously not the quality of Givi.

Well spotted - wish I had seen that before I bought a givi for the YBR!

I think a case will look a little better on the DR.

I already have a Givi 45ltr on my S10, which is the size I need for touring & rallies.... but just for days out its way too big.
Hence why I was looking at this box, but it would mean swopping base plates when using either box, which would be a faff.

So I may buy the smallest Givi, a 26ltr, which can obviously use the same baseplate.

I have one of thosse 17 ltr topbox in. My garage ''they leak are hard to close and the locks are real cheap...the mount wobbles but at 10 quid it was worth a try ..i used it on my ccm forr trails and euro tour..the pelicase are far better even the copies too...
now use a dry bag and straps..but it squashes the sarnies unless in a tupperware box lol...
