What have you made for your bike?

Post by GB »

I love having a go at knocking stuff up for my bikes, with the GS I did a stand enlarger, after seeing Udders headlight protector I'm now going to have a go at one of them.
So come on lets see your homemade stuff

Not really made myself but painted and fitted by moi, used the left hand Ammo box for spares and the Right for Michelin maps and phrase books. I didnt need to get off to check out maps just reach down and they are waterproof :)

Didn't make the cases - they are Peli cases that, in a previous life, were housings for speed indicating devices (Smiley road signs). I just modded them up and then made mounting plates to mount onto Givi racks . .

I have since re-shaped the mounting plates as well as mounting the bobbins on the cases directly into the case and done away with the long brackets you see in the last photo.

I've also made up mounting brackets for Aux lights on the Vara, my scooter, my Transalp & my sons F650.

I made these for a laugh, record boxes of Ebay £16, the tie downs are kitchen drawer handles from B&Q and the mounting frames flat bar bent and welded in my shed.
The Touratech stickers are genuine though

Alun missed them in his DIFINITIVE guide to aluminium panniers and they had integral locks and a comfy lining :(
