Yep, I think it looks great for what it is - the resurrection of a middle-of-the-road, sensible, average, reliable, classic Honda all-roads (not off-road) bike, a jack of most trades and master of none, which will run forever. At a great price, too. A pity it has quite a few largely unnecessary (imo) electronics, though. I love the classic paint, but then I once owned this and sort of regret getting rid of it....

I think it looks great! 90hp and more torque than a T7 and the seat looks comfy as well. :D

As an example The norden 901 weighs 218 wet and 105 hp.
My current AT is 238kgs and 105 Hp.
So 208 KGs and 90hp is competitively bang on the mark.
Ordered one from Bransons and yes we understand its 8k plus any bits.

I saw one at the NEC bike show this week and it looked very nice. The best the Honda guy would say on the price was that it was 'likely to be just under 10k'...
Suzuki GSX-S1000F...the KTM 450 EXC-R has gone

Problem with this bike is that if Honda had made what people expected it to be, sub 200kg T7 killer,
then it would have been running rings around it's big brother.

It seems the new TA will be £9500
£2500 more than the new Hornet

About £13335 here in Norway. https://www.finn.no/mc/all/ad.html?finnkode=286996603
More expensive than a KTM 690 or clone thereof.

Interesting but I never thought it would be in competition with the T7. In the adventure market Yamaha and Honda have always been different:
WR250R different animal to CRF250L
S10 v AT again different.
Tracer v NC .

I think they’ve looked at TA heritage and built a bike for same consumer but with modern expectations.

Shame because a more simple bike with a lower price tag would be more in keeping with the TA of old.

I have a WR250R and although its getting a bit long in the tooth its well built and well sorted--thanks to its popularity in the US where bigger tanks, better suspension, racks etc are all available. I also owned a nice 600 Transalp, and also sort of regret selling it, BUT its replacement, a 400 Burgman, does distance , carries gear , is super comfortable and does 70 mph cruising and 70 mpg--its taken a time to get used to it but it stops, goes and goes around corners very well---and I can pop my leg through the gap with a topbox and roll bag on the massive dual seat, not to mention the vast underseat storage for all those small, and heavy items (all safely locked away out of sight.)

Honda already have a cheaper less complex bike with the CB500X so I guess they though the new Transalp should fill the gap between the CB500X and the Africa Twin which it does appear to do in many respects. Now if only the weather would improve I might just get to ride my recently purchased CB500X which is probably equivalent to the original Transalp.
