Anybody planning on going?
We generally go once every few years and given last years biking drought I think we should make the effort while we can. A 25 mile ride each way, free bike parking and a chance to give the biking mojo a boost.

Thinking about it from Edinburgh, never been before. Worth the trip?

Re: NEC Bikeshow 2021
I used to be one of those annual pilgrimage people. Went every year between about 1981 and mid 2000s. There's pictures somewhere of me sitting on the brand new GPZ900 in 1983/4, the brand new FZR1000Exup and the brand new R1 in 1998. And I usually came away with a pair of tyre-warmers or a paddock stand or something.
We had a bike expo here in Limoges a while back and it was good, but not on the scale of the NEC. I miss that buzz when you first walk in the hall and there are just masses of stands bulging with bikes to dribble over.
But I'm reminiscing back to a time when about 100,000 bikes per year were sold in the UK, to much younger people than buyers are today. It's a completely different demographic now, and an industry in decline.

That's what I meant by my biking mojo, although I don't intend to buy a new bike the buzz of the show usually has me planning next years trips .daveuprite wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 7:45 am I miss that buzz when you first walk in the hall and there are just masses of stands bulging with bikes to dribble over.
Covid passport downloaded, just need to book the tickets.

I'm going on the Wednesday. We usually go each year, some years are better than others. Shame that Yamaha won't be there this year as they usually have a great stand.

Is that so? What a shame, always a tad left field and with legendary reliability, my favourite manufacturer without doubt.Scott_rider wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:19 am Shame that Yamaha won't be there this year as they usually have a great stand.
Like others, I used to religiously go to the NEC show year-in and year-out, but not for around 15 yrs now, not since I've been satisfied with my bike(s) and in no mood to change. But, as said, try it out.... at the worst, you've only wasted a day of life and a few £'s.
