You've missed the point David. I'd rather have the 150bhp and only use it occasionally than not have it at all. Otherwise I suppose you could have bought a 1.4 shopping Golf instead of that Ultra Hot Hatch of yours couldn't you?Cornishman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 8:53 amHave you still got a blanket 80kph limit up your way? If so 106 BHP would have been more than enough anyway.daveuprite wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 10:18 pmWell it's 106bhp. But err, not this one Alan.... Don't worry - look at those brakes! Best in the business. Those same Brembo monoblocks were used by most World Super Bikes until about 2008/09. You can stoppie this bike with one finger...

Well yes, quite. I already hiss and sizzle when I walk into a church, so I'm going down anyway. it might as well be in style....

Re: What have i done?
It was very tongue in cheek. My Golf is not my fastest car either! My Model A is great with the 80 limit, it can now reach the speed limit, something it couldn’t manage when it was 90. Mind you it could do with those Brembos to slow it down again, brakes aren’t its strong point. I might have to come over sometime to view your new collection.daveuprite wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 10:50 amYou've missed the point David. Yeah, you'd be welcome of course. Hopefully the stable will be complete by beginning of next week. You should come in your Model A - I'd really like to see that.

They're really nice. Handle very well for a tourer. If you get one and for any particular reason you need a virtually brand new set of km clocks, I have some here.diggermanbob wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:05 pm That is very nice Dave , I have been looking at road bikes again I probably shouldn't but fancy a triumph 1050 st !!!
We should all do some kind of road trip together. Not dirt bikes for a change. Road bikes. Do all the southern french river gorges maybe, or nip over into italy perhaps. Follow all the green squiggly lines on the Michelin map, just like the old days...
