Yeah, isn't it great when a pension pot comes of age, like winning a mini lottery I would say. Many, however, had no access to those brilliant final salary schemes, such as folks like me who ran a business and took a bit of a gamble with a private pot, which luckily has now paid off. I put most of the bonuses we paid ourselves into my pot to get the tax thrown in as well, thanks to HM Govt.... about the only perk ever, apart from years ago when having a partnership was financially very beneficial.
