KTM 390 Adventure - lowering / seat heights

Post by Mr Free Market »

I am looking for an ADV style bike for my somewhat vechically challenged wife (5'4")

Currently top of the list is the 390 Adventure. With a seat height of 855mm it's too tall for her

KTM do a lowering kit that shaves 25mm. Has anyone on here lowered a 390?

If so, how much height did you manage to shed & what other mods did you make?
Over a long enough timeline, everyones survival rate drops to zero

Hmm. Difficult one - I'm 6'1 and the 390 Adventure fits me very comfortably... my wife is 5'5 and has a 390 Duke, which fits her perfectly, but is still about 1' too tall for 100% foot-on-ground-in-all-conditions confidence.
A link will only drop the rear, and will keep the std spring rate which is optimised for blokes. If you pop the forks up the clamps you still have blokes' springs in there too.
The best bet is a suspension company that will work out what custom springs to fit to reduce the ride height and still have the suspension working properly.
