Here's mine. God I regret selling that bike. One of just 240 ever made, in great condition. It went like a rocket (tuned Exup 1000 engine) and handled like a race bike. I used to get back from a fast road ride, light a fag and just stare at it, recalling how bloody fast I'd just been travelling. Saw 280kmh on the clock once.

...then in the distance, you'd hear "Neee-nah, Neee-nah," and slam the garage shut and run into the house, rip your leathers off, stuff them in the cupboard under the stairs and hide behind the sofa!

Re: bikes i wish i had kept
Harrison 6 pot--and it has a floating disc--takes some careful setting up because it "wraps around" the disc a fair bit so out with the calipers and shim washers. the pads are for some small Honda or Suzuki I think, so are available apart from Harrison. It has bedded in nicely and really stops--but progressively--just going for a bigger disc doesn't do much IMO because the stock caliper is crap --and we tried a different master cylinder diameter, braided line and quality pads--to sum up you need the clamping force coupled with a bigger friction surface area.

Re: bikes i wish i had kept
I do actually have a story along those lines, but long before the YB8. I was 18, quite experienced already at riding bikes (or so I thought), and impatient to get riding proper big bikes rather than little 2 strokes. I bought a lightly smashed up Suzuki GS1000 from a work mate's boyfriend and I did it up bit by bit with spare cash from my first job. I just forgot to do the pass a driving test and buy insurance bit...Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 5:53 pm ...then in the distance, you'd hear "Neee-nah, Neee-nah," and slam the garage shut and run into the house, rip your leathers off, stuff them in the cupboard under the stairs and hide behind the sofa!
So I was hooning around on the GS one summer evening and found a police Ford Granada up my arse (this was 1984!), probably not impressed by my false number plate. I opened it up and 'left the scene'. Lots of twists and turns later, and adrenaline pumping like a californian porn star, I lost the cops and headed for home asap. I chucked the bike in the garage and threw a bucket of water over the engine, for some reason thinking that would help Quick kit change and i went into town for a drink. Never heard another thing. But i did break the bike for parts, pass my bike test and go legit from then on...
Mea culpa, etc etc...

Re: bikes i wish i had kept
I've had two of these sold this one about a year ago wish I had kept this one as it was all set up for touring pannier racks etc, rode it from southern Spain a few years ago never missed a beat. Injury made me sell it but I do miss it.
