Re: BSA Gold Star
Do you mean DBD32 and 34 s (B31 and B33 with attitude),or the Rocket Gold Star twins?--Henry Cole did a restoration tv programme on a DBD32 350. with alun Millyard doing the engine work.

Re: BSA Gold Star
Preunit B32/34 are the expensive ones
unit B25 and B50 are somewhat cheaper.
The B32/34 appear to get more expensive as they get newer ZB,BB are relatively cheap DBD most expensive.
I think Henry's was a BB as it had a slimmer barrel
A bit about them here
later early B25/50

Re: BSA Gold Star
The one I was looking at was a DBD32 1959 I guess like the one Henry Cole restored.

Re: BSA Gold Star
They say that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing well no knowledge certainly is, despite being in my early sixties and having ridden bikes when dinosaurs still roamed the earth I've never owned a British bike and thought it was about time I did, thought a Gold Star might be a good bet because despite my advanced years I do still ride like a teenager having taken advice and made research I think I need something a little easier to live with. Thanks for all your wise words.

Re: BSA Gold Star
Co-Op Bonnie/Tiger 750 about the easiest/cheapest of the 'old' Brits...and not too unlike a Jap bike. Later ones even have the gearchange on the left, easy to keep running compared to most Brit bikes.
Also consider Norton Commando, but these are much more expensive.
