Re: T700 v KTM 950 Adv
We had this issue at Frampton Mansell crossing in Gloucestershire.
If I was riding on my own, or with others, I'd always stop and call the signal box to ask if it was safe to cross.
then one day, somebody didn't

the crossing got closed to us afterwards.

Well that's me told (don't tell me err t7 fan)EWR wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 12:12 pmLet's park the bike and take a picture of it on a level crossing while standing with our back to rail traffic: staggering.dave h wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 11:51 amIMG_20200822_105058 (1).jpgjohnnyboxer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 9:59 amYou don't need to look at it, when you're riding itCrossrutted wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 5:50 pm Bob, you failed to mention the T7 aesthetics-or lack of.
A good graphics set almost makes them acceptable , almost but not quite.
I thought the 790 was grim looking but the T7 makes it look like a supermodel !
The 950 was a design classic, functional in the extreme, won Dakar until the rules changed.
I like my 2004 950S better than the 990s and SE's I had. I can stand and look at it all day.
The Tenere 600s of the 80's were superb looking bikes, but would appear to be Yamaha's styling zenith.
790R, good looking?.................you need Specsavers
im with crossrutted on this one i am a bit biased though
dave.
And in view of neighbouring properties and other road users: brilliant.
No wonder parts of the biking community get the reputation they do.
As someone who works in the industry, please don't do it, regardless of how well you think you know the location. If you get hit, you won't win. I know, because I've seen the aftermath and have been there to pick up the pieces. Rant over.
Dave.

I think it was Network Rail that made that crossing illegal to use after that tragic event Richard, I always use the other route to get onto the Daneway now.Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 2:09 pm We had this issue at Frampton Mansell crossing in Gloucestershire.

That crossing was insanely dangerous if you didn't do as it said on the signs.boboneleg wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 10:59 amI think it was Network Rail that made that crossing illegal to use after that tragic event Richard, I always use the other route to get onto the Daneway now.Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 2:09 pm We had this issue at Frampton Mansell crossing in Gloucestershire.

Since the motorcycle incident, there have been at least two other fatalities there: one a local land owner and the other a woman on foot.

Blimey, when I first saw that picture, I assumed he was abandoning the 790 to be crushedEWR wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 12:12 pmLet's park the bike and take a picture of it on a level crossing while standing with our back to rail traffic: staggering.dave h wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 11:51 amIMG_20200822_105058 (1).jpgjohnnyboxer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 9:59 amYou don't need to look at it, when you're riding itCrossrutted wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 5:50 pm Bob, you failed to mention the T7 aesthetics-or lack of.

Re: T700 v KTM 950 Adv
It seems very expensive compared to the other Chinese motorbikes, too.
Some of the reported faults are to do with the brakes, either locking on or flying apart.
Nice bike to ride, mind, but I don't think I could trust one.
