Just put my 250L back together after I swapped parts over from my uknreg one to a Spanish reg one. With the ejk and free flowing pipe, it's a great little bike.boboneleg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:11 pm I'll be interested to see how people get on with these 300's. My mate has had a 300L for a couple of months and wasn't impressed with the finish at all. Peeling paint on the frame and the header pipe and a feeling that a lot of it was made of cheese, he's sold it now.
Compared with my three and a half year old Rally it really doesn't seem to be too well made ?

Love the blacked out visor
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

I watched the 300L reviewed on YouTube
They really rate them
I thought they were just heavy lumps, but it appears to be a good bike

Re: New Honda CRF300 L and CRF300 Rally
I'm puzzled.
Loads of respected people on here and elsewhere rave about them, yet they also seem to have some very unHonda reliability issues.
Look at the spec sheet and they don't seem to do anything that a DR350S couldn't do decades ago. It's heavier, less powerful and has poorer suspension than a DR-Z400. The only advantage seems to be a proper overdrive sixth gear.
Please tell me what I'm missing?

The video said the CRF surpasses the DRZ in terms of chassis and real world speed on trail & road and the gear ratios were 21st century and not 20th century like the DRZ
Seems like the bike is far better ....I hated my DRZ 400 s

Re: New Honda CRF300 L and CRF300 Rally
I'm a former Rally owner and they are without doubt a proper piece of kit for trailriding with just a change of rear shock. I've ridden with Nethen, Minky, Bob, Cowling, Buck, and Stu a lot over the years. We all want something different from our bikes and we've all tried different approaches to trailriding but most of the lads have kept a Rally in the stable so it clearly does something right.
It would be disappointing if the new variant has dropped in quality which it appears may be the case but they are a cheap bike and if you're going to chuck it on the floor on a regular basis then it's probably not too big an issue. Most important is reliability and they have that nailed in our experience. A 300 version could only have made my 250 better. Bbrraapppp.

Re: New Honda CRF300 L and CRF300 Rally
Well I was witness again today to how the CRF250 can have a go at a lot of terrain. The shortcomings are clear: weight, low ground clearance, soft springs. But with a determined rider it can tackle quite a lot.
