Re: Maxi-Scooter's - Go Big and Ride Big
After 10 months and barely a couple of thousand miles my Forza didn't work out.
I loved the weather protection, the twist and go, the storage, that great Honda 300cc engine etc but the downsides were too much.
The low laid back seating position with feet forward put alot of weight on the coccyx area and that got uncomfortable for me, i tried a airhawk but it
didn't completely solve the problem.
The small wheels and poor rear suspension was a bad choice for my use of the scooter. ie the Scottish Glens. with the poor road condition and potholes etc it became unbearable. I obviously made the wrong choice, as a commuter and highway vehicle it really excells.
I'm going to try the SH, the same engine, upright seating position and 16 inch wheels to see if that would be a better solution.
Keep the pics coming, i liked that garage, is it closed down ?

Sorry to hear you and the Forza 300 are not gelling together -
Yes;
I found that disused garage yesterday a few miles from Larbert and thought it could be a photographic opportunity.
It's the really decent power delivery I love on the Silverwing 600, fabulously stealthy quick as a parallel twin etc...
At times I think why do I need a 1000cc adventure bike also.

I had a Burger 650, and I had exactly the same issues with my lower back/coccyx. The leaning back riding position just wasn't for me. A pity really, because I really liked the twist'n'go and the performance was really good. I often wonder if an SH300 would be the way to go.crofty wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 9:09 am IMG_20200522_142356703.jpg
Glad your still enjoying your scooter Mac.

Same problem with my integra,
I solved it by bolting the top box further forwards as a back rest then added some foam to lean on
(it's permanently fixed but that's ok)
Then moved the bars back with risers Dave.

I feel and understand your collective pain. I swapped over to the SH300 and have put about 1000 miles on it over the last few months. It’s a great bike/scooter, still get a bit of the bumps but you can’t really get away from that with the engine mounted on the rear arm I guess.
Tank range is a little limited at 150 miles til empty and approx 130 to fill up, but it’ll do 80+ if needed and is quite a bit lighter.
The seat is a bit higher so do bear that in mind. Also luggage space is reduced to a helmet under the seat and it does need some form of screen as you’re sat much more upright.
A great bike nonetheless

A brilliant run out today in actual sunshine on the Honda Silverwing 600, it was averaging around 14 degrees heat wise for a change, Bliss...!
