Hi guys, Got my choice of new bike down to the two above.
Both about £3500 from a dealer
Both similar mileage
BMW is a 2011
Triumph is 2004
But which is best?

The age of them would be a factor for me.
A 2011 bike over a 2004 is more attractive.
The BMW engines are good for big miles and have a nice character, although I’m biased as I had an 800GS for 10 years.
Enjoy, which ever one you go for.

Hi, I would say it depends on what your using it for the BMW is a nice bike - smaller and lighter, the Tiger - bigger and heavier but great engine and very good for distance work , I had one for 5 years and did 2 big trips with it (pillion and luggage) but they are very wide seats which makes it feel taller than itreally is , IM 5'11" and it seemed tall , the standard seat is a bit crap for any distance ., if you ride it off road its very top heavy.
Unless the Tiger is mint I would have thought its a bit overpriced, if your going to stay on road I think a Tiger 1050 would be a better bike for the same money.
Just my thoughts but its your money, at the end of the day both good bikes.

I'd say the BMW. Lower, lighter, easier to wrench on. I also think if it's been looked after, and you look after it/upgrade/add to it, it will hold it's value more.

Pesonally I'd plum for the F650GS twin against the 955i.
Tried several Tigers of that age and never got on with the suspension - very, very "boingy" in a vert Tiggger like fashion.
Toured and off-roaded on a F650Gs twin - no passenger on either type of ride and the bike proved to be very capable and enjoyable
I will admit, as OnHellas has done, to owning a F800GS (No.4 for me - I likes them . . . a lot ), so I am biased.
