Re: This looks fun
Yes it certainly does. They've been making a 2x2 farm/trail bike for a while (a second powered hub in the front wheel for two-wheel drive) and it would be interesting to see if they apply that tech to the FRX1.

There's a video here:
Don't know where he gets the idea that it's a quarter the weight of a 250cc. It's about half. Still fantastic though. It feels about 2000 euros too expensive, frankly, to attract most dirt-bikers, but that price will inevitably come down - as it is with other battery vehicles.

'6 hour charge time'
'Off-Highway vehicle' - so you cant use it anywhere legally in the uk except private land
50mile range until you start panicking - 60kg is still heavy enough to be a pain to push back - no pedals unlike an emtb !

Cool. A few Qs... How did it feel, being pulled and pushed at the same time? Do you get to control how much torque goes to the front? Can you wheel-spin the front and rear wheels simultaneously? And if so, how does the dirt taste in New Zealand?Chris S wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 1:10 pm I tested the 2x2 in NZ last year (below).

Ah OK, I just read the article, which answered most of that. Cheers.daveuprite wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 1:12 pmCool. A few Qs... How did it feel, being pulled and pushed at the same time? Re: This looks fun
All detailed in the link but hardly noticed 2WD.
It tracked unusually well in the overgrown MTB park we used.
No torque control, iirc. Each wheel is independent.
Twin wheelspins? Of course, but takes effort; it's only moped power.
Hub motors are a clever AWD solution but only work on/fit in a small Kw bike before the wheels weigh a ton.
