Yeah the middle one of those three is good value for a 2019. They fitted a better clutch to all models in 2018, so either of those 18/19 bikes would be good. I'd be just a tad more wary of the one with no stated hours and a complete change of decals etc - which is quite soon from new even by my own crash-tastic standards. Might have been raced... The standard low-hours 19 bike is nice. Lots of people are after the 390, so it looks like the 350s are coming up a bit cheaper. Surely a cheeky cash offer would buy most bikes cheaply right now?
Most years since 2016 the improvements were incremental, e.g. bit lighter, different colours/decals/small changes. But the latest current 2020 range is an entire update - new frame, bodywork, loads of changes. So an MY2020 bike (which basically means bought in the last 6 months, since about Oct 19) will be one of these, and therefore much more expensive. Hopefully the 2020 revised bikes will be around the 5k mark in about 2 years time.

Re: Trail Bike advice please
Having just read the crf450 thread, I've looked at the crf's again, and just spotted the price of the crf250L !!!
A 2019 model with 29 miles for 4k, fairly local to me, makes them very tempting
Did the 2019 model have abs as std ?

Re: Trail Bike advice please
Regularly browsing the ads has been interesting, as all the private ones have dried up - I think they've all sold 'locally'. The dealers have been shifting them too, with everything that has looked interesting to me (low mileage/hours) has gone before I've made my mind up
Well, I say that, but of course I havnt, as theres no point if I cant look forward to riding it !!!
Anyway, reading through this lot _again_ made me look some more at the bigger bangers, and I found this very interesting article:

I must say that the ktm/husky 510 engine does sound like more 'me' than the modern thrashy smaller capacities. Shame there's almost nothing around ... does that mean people are keeping them ?
Incidentally, ktm/husky dealers are telling me that they will be late this year and are likely to have just cosmetic changes.

No doubt you will have have seen rtwpaul on ADVRider? He’s prepped a 500EXC ready for the off.
I can’t imagine the cost of the upgrades but you would need very deep pockets (or in his case sponsors!)

Re: Trail Bike advice please
Well, the good news is that production of new KTM/Husky bikes is about to restart.
The delivery of new bikes should switch the supply of older bikes back on as people make room in the garage. Although quite who is going to buy a new bike ATM, I'm not sure.

Re: Trail Bike advice please
Do you know which model they are producing? I'm lead to believe the entire production run of 2020 enduro and mx bikes were already made months ago so I guess other models have had there current production runs completed.
Re: Trail Bike advice please
As said earlier by others do think about a 500. I have a Ktm500 2015 and it’s a great bike for me as I’m around 100kg and 6 foot so it’s just perfect, it really pulls from low down and of course feels like it’ll never run out of steam when it’s opened up..

A dealer has told me that ktm are saying that the 2021 models will likely only have cosmetic changes. And no tasty deals available

Re: Trail Bike advice please
The thing is, although I'm 6'1, I'm only 68kg, and as I read in a review last night, its not so good for lightweights. I know I would love the grunt but if it 'ripped' when I wasnt expecting it, I'd prob be left behind
