2019 KTM 690

Post by qcnr »

So far very pleased, but a few observations:
- doesn’t like low revs, very stuttery.
- the engine guard although plastic seems sturdy.
- 1 usb socket as standard.
- low fuel consumption, last fill, 220km ridden, 8.6l filled.
- suspension needs playing with to suit me.

Plans
- better handguards
- aluminium engine guard
- luggage racks.
- Rade Garage mods after summer.

Oh and it is very wheelie happy, which causes me to have to change underwear after riding on a regular basis.

Still enjoying the bike, but still not used to the power :o
Wheelies in 3rd gear :o and more underpants needed...
Bought some better handguards for it and am looking at luggage, but there is
a massive choice out there. Thinking MoskoMoto, but motoin.de have Kriega bags
at a good price at the moment. Then there are frames to get as well

Decisions decisions....

Strange as here in Norway (everything is expensive) it was cheaper than the Yam T7.
And that has no definate delivery date. Will be taking it easy and no long trips planned
as I need to kit it out with luggage carrying capacity first :(

i agree put me off buying one 9500k? did ktm just think of a price and thought that will do, ended up with a 790 more money but hey hoo

speaking to a friend at a local dealer saying they have sold one 690 smc and no 690 enduro, so the dealer is going to be offering a free akro with the bikes to try and shift them on, i expect a price drop or some kind of offer soon

Booking it in for its' first service today. The ABS light comes on brightly than goes out,
but because I park it in a dark garage whilst at work, I have noticed that the light tends
to glow softly all the time.
Not sure this is a fault, but I do think the light should be off permanently.

My 701 does this it’s normal, the abs should go out after the 5 m or so of riding.

As a hint Check your clutch Slave cylinder, if it’s the same as the 701s magura change it as the first upgrade or it’ll leave you stranded before you know it. The seals fail and throw all the clutch fluid into the engine

It's a crazier price
In 2016 they were £7500 on the outgoing model , so the 19 model is a full £2000 dearer and another £1000 more than the 701

I can't see £9500 for a new 690 it's madness - they will drop

You can buy a new 19 350 exc f for £6800 now and originally they were knocking on for £9000 a few months ago
