Let us know what you think of the PCX when you get, did you have to order it?

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Ha ha ha yeh I did think that there is a definite lack of proper off road pcx riding out there.
Yeh the waiting time for them is about 8 weeks!!! They are still the most popular bike being sold at the moment, mainly down to them being perfect (frugal, nippy) for the delivery rider and being fantastically economical (around 130mpg) for those not wanting to use public transport.
I ordered a new one as liked the sound of the slightly larger underseat storage (30litres - that’s a whole side pannier worth) updated dual suspension on the rear and the new 4valve engine. Also, I think because there’s such a wait, used ones are selling for more than the new price at the moment!
Will definitely give it a good testing

First going big and then....
I understand the path you have taken.
I am on my way, even I am not quit there yet..
But first some history my touring bikes
(I skip all the others like 2-strokes, GSX-R 1100, WL 750, Choppers......)
First touring bike. Moto Guzzi 850 T.
1974, 850 cc, 211 kg (dry), 68 hp
Next: Moto Guzzi California
1989, 950 cc, 250 kg dry, 65 hp
And then: Kawasaki GTR 1000
1986, 1000cc, 270 kg, 110 hp
Going the wrong way....

Smaller (or less big)
Going towards "smaller". Or less big ones.
One step Suzuki DL 650 XT
2016, 650 cc 190/214 kg, 67 hp
At least 85 kg less
Now Honda NX4
2003, 400cc 135/150 kg, 31 hp
I just made trip Portugal from South to North on N2.
East to west on N222.
And going south again with a detour to Spain.
I like the bike a lot. It is very good for twisted roads, gravel roads, in villages.
Exploring that view point, that backroad.....
150 kg instead of 300 makes a lot of difference.
Even on tarmac.
(Travel story might come)
I made a one day trip lately. With some bikers in Algarve
Comment "Did you really travel the whole of Portugal on that bike ???"
Whas it the size or the lack of finish that made them suspicions ?
So I am on my way....
==
I would very much like to have a Yamaha XT250.
But I can't find them here.
Suzuki DL 250 comes at 178 kg. So it make no sense for me.
So for now I stay with 400 cc. But 250 will come.

Once upon a time. A put Krauser panniers on a Kawasaki S2.
For a weekend trip to a 2-stroke meeting
Kawasaki S2
1972, 350 cc, 45 hp, 151 kg dry

At least 85 kg less

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
That bike is looking really good, but I think that still a 400 is classed as a middleweight, though the manufacturers will tell us that under 800 is a small bike these days
I think 250cc will be the cut off for the small bike capacity…

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I agree with that.
So
I am on my way towards small, but not there yet.
But moving in that direction.
=
I was actually considering a Honda NX 250.
But they are 10 years older.
And have a more complex design.
https://bikez.com/models/honda_nx_250.php
But it is still a possibility

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
NX250 is the best looking 250 ever made IMO. I would love one.
