Agreed, my XR125 felt pretty bombproof. I can't think of any 'spares' it would need. I would however put a screen and handguards on it if you are going a long way.P4ulie wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 10:28 pmAs long as the bike is sound I wouldn't worry about taking spares, maybe a spare tube, but if you can't change it I wouldn't even bother with that. Your chain is going to stretch, so make sure you have the tools to tighten & loob to slink it up & enjoylukesey74 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 12:50 pm Just read the opening message on this topic, I have recently purchased an XR125L and I’m contemplating a long trip. I live in the south east of the uk and plan to take it up to the lakes and maybe on to the ns500. Hoping to be on the road for 3 weeks ( a short trip compared to many!). Should I carry any spares?

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Hi, I must admit that was a good 5 years ago now.
But I find that I can travel really cheaply these days but the only thing that changes the cost is what accommodation I use.
Camping is the way forward if you want to save money, which will set you back about £15 a day. I seem to remember the XR125L doing over 100mpg to the gallon so that’s not going to cost much for petrol, then buy a baguette/loaf and cheese and that’s lunch sorted, a banana for brekkie and a takeaway for the evening and you’ll be saving loads.
The bike will easily handle full camping gear set up and will also do any off-road sections you feel like too.
It’s such a good bike and I do slightly miss mine

Yamaha - Suzuki 150
I wish I could buy one of these bikes here.
Than that would be my next bike.

But I ordered some spare parts for my old Brazilian girl instead.
I will keep her alive (I hope for long time)
But you never know. One time my dream to travel South America might happen.
And then there are alternatives.

I watched that yesterday. A great trip. You know that you’ve chosen the right bike for the journey when you have to push it along a beach.
