Good pics. My dad had a Gazelle.
But it kept eating all the hay so he traded it in for a car....

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Headed up to Shropshire for a couple of days, only 87 miles but it was sooooo cold on the little C90.
Hoping to get a couple of trails in but it does depend how icy they are.

Honda C90 Econo
Time to ride Patagonia - Alaska ?
Then you need a bike.
Rob the bank. Buy a brand new BMW 12%0 GS. open the Touratech catalog and add all the needed accessories ?
Or find an old Honda C90 and start a restoration and rebuild project.
There is a playlist about that. But in Spanish. Sorry for that...
Maybe you can get English text ??
You can find it here :
As roryecto Econo

A lot of videos.
Nice work and a lot of nice modifications.
The summary of work done and costs:
Test ride before heading towards Ushuaia and Alaska
It shows the well done modifications of the bike
Panniers in wood. Mounted on home made track. Chromed
Front box : old amunition box
Spare tank.
......
The Playlist of the trip can be found at the same place.

He got stuck in Usuaia during Covid19 lock down.
And after that he started "Project Ruta 40" instead of Alaska. To start the travel without border crossing.

I like the way to restore something and than use what you have created.
I have done it many times. Not for long distance travel. Only for daily use and weekend trips.

I hope that some one can be inspired by these videos

The wonderful Cwms lane!
Started over in Willstone and rode back to Chirch Stretton. Decided to give the sunken lane a go, and despite it being a steady stream it was pretty good fun.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I like the look of that. I've always fancied modifying a trials bike for trail riding. Not that I know the first think about engineering .
When I used to ride trials in the 1990's, I had more fun riding between the sections than I did riding the actual sections .

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
It's pretty much ready to go trail riding as standard , my other one has had a few mods for trials , frame headstock angle reduced for tighter turns , sprockets changed for lower gearing , airbox mod and trials exhaust, seat and tank unit changed , also footpegs moved back and lowered to get weight in right placeScott_rider wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 12:50 pm I like the look of that.
