Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Just got back home.
Stats are in:
17 days
9.3bhp, 4 gears
Rode 2400 miles,
Walked 110 miles,
Total cost of petrol £101.95.
Result
I travelled across from Bristol to get the Chunnel to Calais, then headed down and around Paris, Clermont Ferrand, Avignon, Carcassonne, Andorra, Lourdes, and then back up the coast to Mont St Michel and the coast to Calais, then the Chunnel back and home.
Tired now, but boy do I miss that on road feeling.

Good fuel economy when going small. => You can travel more.
I would have to pay three times ore for fuel, using my sports touring machine.
What did you in average had to pay for accommodations during this time of year in that area ?

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
It seemed to work out at about £40 to £50 a night. But I chose to spend more money on hotels than on food or petrol.
To me a good nights sleep is invaluable and I also chose places so I could do some walking. Each evening I tended to go out for a 6 mile walk, sometimes longer. Nice to see more of the towns I stay in
