Hi,
Has anyone out there had sight of the Honda notice that came out last week on the Africa Twin spoke problem.

My wheels were changed on Monday for Dble Dipped ones, but I believe the notice states that all wheels are now being replaced with a Stainless Steel version and that Dble Dipped ones were also failing?

Cheers Si

I had my rims 're-spoked' a few months ago (with DD) and they tarnished again so i put in another warranty claim and my 'new wheels' are being fitted tomorrow.
The trouble is i don't know if they are DD or SS spokes, it seems silly if they again give me DD because the dealers are claiming back over a grand on each warranty claim replacement they get sanctioned

Can't complain about the warranty though , except that it runs out in a month

Mine runs out in May, so hence I have logged a complaint with Honda UK, and now that has been pushed through to head office.

Have a look on this Facebook page.

I would ask before they fit and then ask about the latest Honda notice that has come out as well.

Just got this from Honda. I am impressed with their customer service, which is miles better than Triumph's.

Good morning Mr Ewbank,

Thank you for taking the time to contact Honda (UK).
I am very sorry to learn that you have been experiencing corrosion on your Africa Twin spokes.
Honda (UK) aim to produce vehicles of a high quality and standard and therefore, we appreciate that our customers have high expectations of our products.
I am pleased to advise, Honda (UK) have been looking into the issue with the Africa Twin model’s spokes and we are planning to release a fix for the corrosion you have been experiencing.
I can confirm that customers with corrosion on their Africa Twin spokes, still within their manufacturer’s warranty period, will be provided with stainless steel replacement spokes.
Unfortunately at this time, we cannot confirm when the replacement spokes will be available to Dealerships and Customers. However, we can confirm that once we have built up sufficient parts stock, we will be advising all of our Dealerships that the parts are available to order.
I am pleased to learn that you have had your spokes replaced, I hope that you will not experience further corrosion. However, in the event that you do, outside of your warranty period (ending 12.05.2018) please contact us here at Honda (UK) Customer Relations, so that we can consider offering a gesture of goodwill.
Honda (UK) always look to assist customers with any issues relating to a manufacturing defect. Within the warranty period these repairs would be covered under warranty, however outside of this period, Honda (UK) Customer Relations can consider offering a goodwill gesture depending on the loyalty of the customer and taking into account their service history, mileage etc.

Honda (UK) hope that the information in this email is helpful to you and helps to reassure you that we are working to provide a long-term fix as soon as possible.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Once again, thank you for contacting Honda (UK).

Funnily, when I mentioned this to Shrewsbury Honda sales team last Autumn when looking around at what was on offer, they denied any knowledge of such a problem!

Who can you trust? :o
