Can't be bothered with winter road-riding - a miserable experience on the whole. Did it when I was much younger and car-less, back in the UK. Horrible.

But out in the mud of SW France - oh yes. Jut chuck a fleece on top of the body armour. Even falling off is fun in winter, as you collapse into a puddle or stare at the sky in a pile of soft mud laughing like a loon.

Sunday breakfast once a month, occasionally for work and any bike specific events ........ so about the same as in the summer
Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

I want this bike to last me a long time so it'll be pretty much off the road until they stop putting salt down.I killed my last bike commuting all year round.I don't bother about the petrol, differing opinions on whether to fill it or drain it anyway.Just plug it up to a solar charger outside under a cover and put wooden blocks under the tyres. For all the cost of road tax it's hardly worth sorning it though in case I change my mind or my car won't start some morning.

I'd have to learn to drive first :geek:

The CCM will go on the optimate, the bar muffs are about to go on the CRF. That's me ready for Winter

My road bike will most likely not get used again until next year and I'll just ride around on my old EXC for any local road riding along with the winter trail riding.

I've done both in the past though, ridden all year round to work and back, get car and drive in winter, now my office is about 10 yards from my door so I walk to work and during the winter I can go for weeks without driving or riding anything, I still walk the dogs 6+ miles every day though unless the weather is very bad then one of my dogs actually has to be carried out the door

ACF 50, ride it, don`t do ice or snow, no fun to me and I don`t bounce anymore :D
Haven`t quite got to the stage of leaving the bike dirty all winter, give it a wash and top up ACF, just a little on a brush goes a long way, did the front wheel last week, each individual spoke with a small paint brush

My season ends at 23.59 on 31st December.

My season starts at 00.01 on 1st January.

The bike gets new tyres in April and end of October......

The bike gets a maintenance treat around February......

After that is fuel and regular maintenance.

My seat heater is brilliant too. It eats Kit e Kat.

Even in the depths of winter, right gear and warm gear it's still pleasant to ride. My office is at home so I don't have a commute but its a bad week I don't get 300 miles on it. Many weeks see 1,000 miles. Trying to keep up with maintenance got tricky so now I use two. Nothing like reaching into your shed when you get a puncture and pulling out another wheel with a good tyre on it...

I actually look forward to some snow, not that 1'' of stuff that stops all the cars but the real stuff 12'' of it and fresh. Get the DR350 out, oops sold that, get the KTM 400 out , let the tyres down and let the fun commence.

It's a shame the last time we had any decent stuff around here was 2010/11 :(
