Re: KTM 1290 Adventure R Thread
Here's mine after a day out doing Devils Bridge, Windermere, Kirkstone Pass, Ullswater and back down the A6 on the old Shap Road getting some miles in prior to first service.
Had the power parts bash plate, heated grips, and sat nav mount and front and rear ergo seats fitted since this photo.
All in preparation for this years trip to Italy in a few weeks.

Re: KTM 1290 Adventure R Thread
Wings replacement silencer any reports and where to purchase for best price?
Re: KTM 1290 Adventure R Thread
You order them and buy direct from the supplier,
I bought the silencer and carbon heel guard and wings seat coolers,
Silencer comes with two restrictors for different sounds, you can leave without or chose from large and small, I currently have the large in and in my opinion it sounds just right.
Silencer saves a tonne of weight over standard,
Package arrived with no problems and even included a T Shirt with the wings logo on it,
Web site

Email address to enquire about purchase and cost.

Gorazd is his name and was a pleasure to deal with.

Just back from a trip to the San Marino moto GP,
Some thoughts,
Bike performed brilliantly, never once thought I should be on my old GS Adventure LC, (not quite true as I did comment my feet were warmer on the 1200GS at one of our coffee and refueling stops)
Smooth, Powerful, Comfortable, Handled well given my reservations of the 21" front wheel,
Returned an average of 51 mpg,
Heated grips and seat came in useful at the top of the alps in driving snow and below zero temperatures,
Quick shifter is excellent,
Hill Hold Control, i had my reservations on this but does exactly what it says on the tin and is very useful at times.
We had biblical rain and high winds running back through Europe to Rotterdam especially on the last day running into port and it handled it all in its stride.
Would I recommend one - you bet but its all down to personal choice in the end.
Did the trip highlight anything the bike needs.
Some side protection tank pads will be on order asap as there are some small scuff marks where my knees have been.
